The Green school strives to create individually differentiated, emotionally connected, highly motivated students. We believe that the best schools in the world have skilled teachers that are kept abreast with international best practices and training. A relevant, enquiry based curriculum that is personalized to each child's areas of interest and growth. Good schools eliminate shame-based discipline and tap into a child's goals and aspirations as motivators to learn, and finally they have standardized in-depth assessments that inform teachers instruction and enable each child to be taught on their 'just-right' level.
Our essential focus is to help students develop a love of reading, writing and mathematics as they grow into intrinsically motivated individuals.
While we have an intensive research based curriculum, we look to some of the best education system in the world, like Finland, New Zealand and The USA for their sound practical application to learning. Our days are short and precise; our students take home daily reading and they spend at least 1 hour every day engaging in outside exploratory play. Our days are focused on meaningful tasks that include a balanced, creative literacy program, multi-sensory mathematics, art, music and fitness. This model of learning produces some of the best students in the world.
The Green Preschool buzzes with excitement. Student begin each day with a morning meeting, were they greet each other by name, share their feelings and news. The rest of the day is designed around hands-on-math centers, art, construction, outdoor play, letter identification and word building, read alouds and music.
Our primary school is designed to foster happy and confident kids that take charge of their learning. At this phase, children enter a stage of developmental integration, in which social, emotional and academic skills come together.
Our day starts with morning meeting, where we greet, share and connect. This promotes a strong sense of community in the class and is fundamentally important for daily learning. Our academic programme is focused on reading, writing, and maths. Our skilled teachers are able to identify and support each child’s unique process of learning by extending their strengths and supporting their stretches. We are able to do this through one-one learning, small intimate classes and small group teaching.
Our reading and writing workshops are multi-disciplinary and incorporate social science and natural sciences. Maths involves hands-on learning, where children experience maths in the real world. Our creative arts curriculum allows for creative expression in visual arts and performing arts.
