About Us
The Green School: Established in 2013
The Green School is an internationally-minded educational institution that caters to a diverse student population from around the world. The Green School (TGS) began in 2013 and was founded by Nicole Greyling (Principal) and Meghann Bruce (Deputy-Principal) who oversee the day-to-day running of the school, create, approve and maintain policy, and see that the school carries out its stated mission and objectives. TGS is a private, college preparatory, non-sectarian, co-educational school for students from three years old through Grade 12. It was established to provide an American/International educational program for the dependents of the multinational professionals and locals living in South Africa.
Our Mission
At The Green School, our mission is to provide a transformative and rigorous international education in South Africa. We are committed to nurturing young minds by fostering a holistic learning environment that empowers students to discover their individual passions and interests. Through a curriculum aligned with global standards, we aim to equip our students with not only the academic skills they need but also the essential life skills that enable them to thrive in an ever-changing world. With a focus on sustainability and inclusivity, we aspire to cultivate responsible global citizens who positively impact their communities and contribute meaningfully to society.
Our Vision
Our vision at The Green School is to be a beacon of excellence in education, bringing the world-class standards of international learning to South Africa.
We envision a future where students are not just passive recipients of knowledge, but active participants in their own educational journeys. Our school is a place where students are encouraged to explore their unique interests, develop critical thinking, and foster creativity. Through a dynamic curriculum that integrates academic rigour with real-world relevance, we aim to instil in our students a deep sense of self-awareness, purpose, and a commitment to ethical values.
At The Green School, we aspire to empower our graduates to leave our institution not only with a well-rounded education but also with a strong sense of identity and a clear understanding of their passions. Our students will possess the skills and knowledge needed to pursue their dreams, contribute positively to their communities, and make a significant impact on the broader society.
The Green School is providing 21st century learners with the space and flexibility to personalise their learning and find success. They meet the students where they are and move from there.

Our school encourages students and teachers to form meaningful relationships. This leads to a warmer classroom environment, where open discussions and the sharing of opinions are encouraged. As a result, students are more engaged in classroom activities and are mentored by teachers as they progress through Middle and High School.
4. Continuous Assessment

Rather than relying solely on comprehensive final exams, The Green School continuously evaluates students through a mixture of assignments, presentations, group projects, and tests. This approach leads to a less stressful environment, allowing students to pace themselves and progress holistically throughout the year.
